Rossini and Velosolutions: making cycling accessible to all in a sustainable way
Velosolutions, a world-leading company in the construction of pump tracks and bicycle trails, has chosen Rossini as the clothing supplier for its team of professionals worldwide. Among the different projects, the company will build the Paris 2024 Olimpic XC trails and the World Championship tracks in Switzerland in 2025.
Velosolutions was founded in 2004, inspired by Claudio Caluori‘s vision. Claudio, a professional mountain biker, downhill racer, and 7-time Swiss MTB Champion, aimed to make cycling accessible to everyone.
‘We have seen the positive change our pump tracks can make around the world. From Roma in Lesotho to Aranyaprathet in Thailand, all the way to Zurich and New York City, they engage people in sports and bring communities together. This is why everything we do at Velosolutions shares the same goal: making sports on wheels accessible to everyone, as we believe it will ultimately change the world”– Claudio Caluori, Velosolution Founder
Claudio Caluori’s team operates in 50 countries and consists of over 250 tireless professionals who work daily to build pump tracks and trails, often in extreme weather conditions.
Given the challenging conditions they work in, workwear plays a crucial role. It must be comfortable and of high quality, as it’s worn for 8 hours a day.
For this reason, the selection of apparel and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) was a critical step in initiating this partnership. They needed to provide clothing from head to toe for teams working under the scorching sun in Africa, as well as teams working in Canada or the Swiss Alps. Having a comprehensive catalog that includes all five product families (gloves, headwear, clothing, shoes, and fall protection) was fundamental.
Velosolutions’ choice landed on top-of-the-line products such as the Softshell Smarty Jacket, which is waterproof and breathable, available in both men’s and women’s versions.
For hand protection, they selected the new X-DRY gloves from the new X-Glove line by Rossini Tech. These gloves are ultra-performing, breathable, and compatible with touch screens.
Among the selected products, there are also the Re-use Re-work work trousers and Bermuda shorts, representing a value that is close to both Velosolutions and Rossini’s hearts: sustainability. The garments in the Re-use Re-work line are made from regenerated polyester, a technologically advanced fiber that guarantees high protection, resistance, and comfort while preserving the environment.
Pump for Peace, Velosolutions’ charitable initiative
With the Pump for Peace association active worldwide, Velosolutions supports the construction of pump tracks in underprivileged communities, with the aim of making cycling and action sports accessible to all. Pump for Peace was founded on the belief that sport has the power to unite communities, no matter the race, gender or religion.
“We are proud to dress a company so focused on the good of the community and the environment in which it operates and to be able to support them with the highest quality workwear, that can offer comfort and safety in all weather conditions”. – Marco Rossini, Rossini’s president and CEO.
