Mattley and Califfo are two makers united by the same passion: transforming wood into unique objects, with creativity and a lot of craftsmanship. To their numerous followers, they not only show the final result but especially everything behind it: ideas, tools, mistakes, and satisfactions. MATTLEY: THE DIGITAL CRAFTSMAN
For Mattley, woodworking has always been a great passion. Since he was a kid, he loved spending his afternoons and summer in the production department of the family business, where furniture, wooden shells, and all kinds of handmade products were brought to life.
“In my free time (usually at night!), I started building websites to learn how this world worked. That’s how my blog was born, and later, my YouTube channel, where I’ve been sharing videos since 2014.”
Today, Mattley’s channel is one of the largest DIY channels in Italy and the only Italian YouTube channel dedicated to digital craftsmanship. What matters to him is that the projects he creates, from the simplest to the most complex, can be replicated by anyone.

CALIFFO: THE CRAFTSMAN BY CHOICE
Califfo, originally Raffaele Piscitelli, took an unconventional route to woodworking. A former gardener, he has always been passionate about ‘creating with his hands,’ and he discovered that wood was the perfect medium to bring his creativity to life.
“Wood is alive. It is not just a material, it is a piece of nature that needs to be listened to.”
Thus, as a self-taught craftsman, he started with a few tools and a lot of desire to learn. His first project, a bedside table, taught him that growth comes from mistakes. Since then, he hasn’t stopped.
Today, Califfo shares his journey with a growing community through tutorials, advice, and projects, driven by his desire to pass on what he has learned. For him, woodworking is more than just a job—it’s a passion to share, a way to slow down, and a chance to rediscover the value of craftsmanship.
